In 2020，facing the dual test of the COVID-19 epidemic and the US blockade，the Cuban party and government have promoted the coordination of the epidemic control and model updating. Under the strong leadership of the Communist Party of Cuba and with the solidarity and cooperation among the Cuban people，the results of Cuban epidemic prevention and control is significantly better than the rest of Latin American countries. The internationalism demonstrated by Cuban medical brigade has been highly praised by the international community. Moreover the Cuban government has adjusted the socio-economic development plan appropriately based on epidemic situation and issued the “Socio-economic Development Strategy under the COVID-19 Epidemic”. To welcome the 8th PCC Congress in April 2021，the Cuban Communist Party has advocated extensive discussions on key issues such as the results and challenges of the model updating，and Party building work. The 8th PCC Congress will fulfill the leadership changes of the Party，which is bound to be an event of great historical significance inheriting the past and opening future.
