High-quality ecological space is an important support for the construction of an ecological city，and a new construction management pattern of “quantity，quality，and distribution” should be formed. Since the 13th Five-Year Plan，the scale of Shanghai’s ecological nodes has continued to increase，the spatial distribution of ecological nodes has continued to shrink，the structure of ecological nodes has been continuously optimized，and the density of green corridors has continued to increase. However，compared with domestic and international major cities，and compared with the increasing needs of urban residents for a better life，the quality of ecological space still has some shortcomings and deficiencies. This is reflected in the number and scale of ecological space that still needs to increase，and ecological space protection and utilization still need coordination，the use of ecological space varies significantly. The construction of ecological space in Shanghai during the 14th Five-Year Plan requires greater fairness and quality，the use of fragmented spaces in built-up areas to increase greenery，the use of suburban land to increase greenness on a large scale，and the multi-functional integration of ecological spaces. From the edge of the city to the center of the city，a circle-layered distribution pattern consisting of the circle of ecological conservation zone，the circle of ecological maintenance zone，the circle of ecological interaction zone，and the circle of ecological embedded zone should be built in sequence. Pay attention to manifesting the value of urban ecological space and broaden the channels for realizing the value of ecological products. Innovate the cross-border ecological space mutual protection mechanism，promote the cross-regional transaction of land use indicators，and promote the establishment of a spatial planning system for the coordinated protection of ecological spaces in the Yangtze River Delta.
