under the background of the interconnection of all things，the various fields of society are deeply integrated and interactive，and cross-border integration has permeated all aspects of social development and daily life，which makes the design is constantly breaking through the theories，technologies，models and other barriers in various industries，the integration and converges of others burst out of 1+1 more than 2 of system innovation and service effectiveness. Starting from the perspective of contemporary cross-border integration，this paper summarizes and analyzes the connotation，characteristics，principles，methods，paths and analysis of relevant application cases，in order to summarize the basic principle framework or paradigm of integrated design from the design concept and methodology. In general，with the demand for innovation and the continuous breaking of professional barriers，the integrated design of cross-border integration has been paid more and more attention，which makes the design inevitably become a system engineering. As far as designers are concerned，integrated design requires them to become “design director” or “integrated dispatcher”. From the perspective of the intelligent society under the background of Internet，integrated design breaks the barriers between social division of labor，so that everyone has the possibility to become a designer. In the process of integrated design，we should not only stick to the design concept of “a people-centered approach”，but also emphasize the principles of “uniting human and universe”，social coordination and prospective sustainability.
