Vehicle is an important carrier of people’s travel and an indispensable part of modern society. Vehicle design is the integration of technology and art，but also an important embodiment of the development level of modern design. In this paper，the design status and development trends of typical vehicles in the land，air，water and other application fields independently researched and developed in China in recent years are sorted out. By using the methods of literature research and case analysis，the development trends of intelligence，human culture and diversification of vehicles is summarized，which provides research reference for relevant practitioners of vehicle design from the perspective of industrial design.
