The old watercourse culture of the Yellow River is an important organic component of the Yellow River culture. The cities through which the old watercourse culture passes are faced with the same problems as the cities on the Yellow River，such as ecological protection，high-quality development and protection and promotion of the Yellow River culture. At present，ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River basin has been promoted to a major national strategy，but it neglects the old Yellow River route and the cities in it. Suggestion is promoted that those which are not on the Yellow River but in the old waterway be circled into the scope of the national strategy. It is necessary to verify and preserve the cultural relics of the old watercourse of the Yellow River in Henan province. We should do enough research and disseminate the old watercourse culture and then refine the spirit of the old Yellow River waterway.
