This report，by using the evaluation index system of basic public service capability and analyzing the results of 14246 online questionnaires，comprehensively and thoroughly evaluates and studies the basic public service capability in 38 major Chinese cities from nine aspects，such as Public Transportation，Public Security，etc.，and issues the ranking lists and results of satisfactoriness of these cities in 2020. In 2020，the overall satisfactoriness index for basic public services in Chinese cities is 68.56，which is an increase of 4.95 from 2019，a record high. In the new era and new stage，governments at all levels must adhere to the people-centered development concept to meet the needs of the people for a better life，strive to ensure and improve people’s livelihood，improve people’s quality of life，and promote the overall development of people. Governments at all levels should take the equalization of basic public services as the goal，promote the comprehensive construction of a modern socialist country，and continuously improve the level of equalization of basic public services. Governments at all levels should take the modernization of the basic public service system as the goal，promote the maturity and finalization of the basic public service system，and continuously improve the level of modernization of the basic public service institutional system.
