Manufacturing industry is an important link in the construction of the industrial system of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. Building world-class advanced manufacturing cluster is one of the important tasks to promote the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry in the Yangtze River Economic Belt. This report uses data such as the number of employees and sales value of manufacturing and subdivided industries in 11 provinces of the Yangtze River Economic Belt from 2007 to 2018. It uses location entropy method and spatial Gini coefficient to measure the agglomeration level of manufacturing industry in the Yangtze River Economic Belt，and analyzes its spatial characteristics and industrial characteristics. The research results show that the overall level of manufacturing agglomeration in the Yangtze River Economic Belt presents the spatial characteristics of “high，middle and low in the downstream” and the industrial characteristics of horizontal decline in equipment manufacturing industry，light textile industry and resource processing industry. The degree of specialization of manufacturing subdivisions in 11 provinces is stable and changeable. The agglomeration level of the manufacturing industry subdivision in the Yangtze River Economic Belt has the characteristics of “high technology，high agglomeration and relatively balanced low technology”. To promote the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry in the Yangtze River Economic Belt，we should strengthen the cultivation and development of world-class advanced manufacturing clusters，promote the in-depth integrated development of advanced manufacturing and modern service industries，and build a rational system of specialized division of labor and an industrial ecosystem.
