Employment is the foundation of people’s livelihood,the strategy of securing the country and the source of wealth. At present,the overall employment situation in the sports industry of China is improving,with obvious employment-driven effects and huge potential. Compared with tourism and culture industries,employment in the sports industry has obvious second-mover advantage. It is estimated that the number of employment in the sports industry will reach 20 million in 2035. However,there are still many problems existing. For example,employment potential has not been fully exploited,a benign economic return mechanism has not yet been formed,the accumulation of sports human capital is still weak,and there is a mismatching between talent training and requirement. In order to achieve China’s medium and long term employment goals in the sports industry,it is necessary to get breakthrough in key areas such as employment potential,economic return mechanism,human capital accumulation,and talent training and development.
