Based on the GBEE-CRAS 2020，60 CSR reports issued by banking and financial institutions in 2020 are assessed and analyzed in this research with targeted recommendations. It is found that the overall reporting quality of banking industry is higher than the average CSR reporting quality in China，and the reports are in the transition from development stage to catch-up stage；the completeness，credibility，readability，comparability，innovation and materiality of the reports have been improved；the reporters focus on the disclosure of social hot topics such as supporting national and regional development strategies，promoting green development and serving the national economy and people’s livelihood.
