Since the approval of the “Two-Type Society” Reform Pilot Zone in 2007，the Wuhan Metropolitan Area has continuously strengthened top-level design and planning guidance，continued to promote the integrated development of key areas，strived to build an integrated linkage carrier platform，and accelerated the promotion of institutional reform. The pattern of regional interconnection has basically taken shape，the trend of economic development integration has become more prosperous，the effectiveness of the “two-type society” construction has continued to stand out，the level of equalization of people’s livelihood has been continuously improved，and the regional leadership has continued to increase its driving force. However，from a practical point of view，the advantages of industrial cooperation in the Wuhan Metropolitan Area are still insufficient，the pressure on resources and environment is still relatively large，the level of co-construction and sharing of social undertakings needs to be improved，the situation of “one city is dominant” has not been changed，and the system and mechanism innovation need to be improved. In the future，the Wuhan Metropolitan Area should further promote the in-depth integration of technology and industry，increase the construction of a “two-type society”，continuously improve the level of urbanization of public services，adhere to the “different development with big belt”，improve market cooperation mechanisms，and promote greater regional integration.
