The metropolitan area of Guangzhou-Foshan-Zhaoqing is one of the most important metropolitan areas in Guangdong，Hong Kong and Macao Greater Bay Area. After more than ten years of integrated development，the metropolitan area of Guangzhou-Foshan-Zhaoqing has made great achievements and formed its own distinctive characteristics. However，there are still some problems，such as the widening development gap between these three urban cities and the decline of its economic position in Guangdong province. Facing the new development situation，Guangzhou，Foshan and Zhaoqing metropolitan area should make great efforts in these five aspects：Innovating the cooperation mode of metropolitan area，constructing multiple interest subjects，breaking administrative regional constraints，improving benefit sharing and compensation mechanism，and strengthening the core city function，so as to actively respond to the challenges and seize the historical opportunities of vigorously promoting the economic development of metropolitan area and the planning and construction of Guangdong，Hong Kong and Macao Bay area.
