In Gansu province，the year of 2019 witnessed critical progress in eliminating poverty，good performance in agricultural production，another big output of grains，and stable and harmonious rural communities. Public opinions related to agriculture，rural areas，and farmers was steady throughout the year，with the total volume more than twice as much as the previous year and over 40% of public opinions were circulated by mobile Apps. Positive coverage focused on the following topics：rural revitalization，the extraordinary changes that had taken place in rural areas over the past seven decades，progress in agriculture sector restructuring，new outcomes of business-driven and internet-powered poverty alleviation programs，improvement of rural living environments through “three revolutions” （toilet，garbage and landscape revolutions） and local governments’ efforts in developing modern agriculture in cold and dry areas along the Silk Road，etc.. The incidents，including the abandoned new toilets in Liangzhou District and overstocked Huaniu apples of Li County triggered heated discussion.
