This paper analyzes the economic development of the Yangtze River Delta in 2019 from the three aspects of general situation，key industries and growth dynamics，and based on the analysis of strategic opportunities and major challenges，the economic operation of the Yangtze River Delta in 2020 is initially forecasted. The main conclusions are：the Yangtze River Delta Region’s economy is growing steadily，but the growth rate continues to decline；the total economic volume is close to 24 trillion yuan，the proportion of the country is basically stable；the economic quality has been greatly improved，the gap between regions is still large；the industrial structure has been steadily upgraded，strategic emerging industries are developing rapidly；investment，consumption and export are generally stable，the pull power is slightly weakened，but the structure is further optimized；Affected by the COVID-19 epidemic in 2020，The risk of economic downturn in the Yangtze River Delta is high，while according to the data in the second quarter，this region is still expected to maintain a positive growth trend.
