New material industry is the material basis for the development of national economy，and an important part of strategic emerging industries. Accelerating the development of new material industry is of great significance to promote technological innovation，support industrial transformation and upgrading，and build a strong province of advanced manufacturing industry in Henan Province. Henan’s new material industry has obvious comparative advantages，ranking in the forefront of the central and Western regions and even the whole country in terms of industrial comprehensive strength，industrial chain development，technological innovation ability and high-end human resources. There are still some outstanding problems in the development of Henan new material industry，such as the key core technology is restricted by others，the competitiveness of industrial clusters is weak，and the constraints of resources，energy and environment are tight. In the future，we should strengthen top-level design，promote the coordination of “three chains”，accelerate cluster development，build service platform，consolidate talent support，and take various measures to promote the high quality development of Henan new material industry.
