Equipment manufacturing industry is an important pillar of national economy，the foundation of industrial manufacturing industry and the backbone of industrial development. Upgrading the modernization level of Henan equipment manufacturing industry chain is of great significance to enhance the regional comprehensive competitiveness and promote the rapid development of regional economy. This paper analyzes the basic conditions and development status of Henan equipment manufacturing industry，and then finds out the main problems faced by the modernization of Henan equipment manufacturing industry chain，and finally puts forward countermeasures and suggestions for improving the modernization level of Henan equipment manufacturing industry chain.
