Pudong New Area is one of the most important industrial clusters in the development of Shanghai’s automobile industry. It is also the main bearing area to accelerate the transformation and upgrading of Shanghai’s automobile industry，and is also an important pioneer to launch the “made in Shanghai” brand. With the development and opening up of Pudong for 30 years，the future oriented automobile industry in Pudong has entered the fast lane of the new era and entered a new stage of high-quality development. Based on the analysis of the background，significance and current situation of Pudong automobile industry，this paper puts forward countermeasures and suggestions，including better playing the leading role of the government，highlighting the dominant position of enterprises，and giving full play to the role of public participation，so as to provide important reference for the high-quality development and sustainable development of Pudong，Shanghai and even China’s automobile industry in the new era.
