Protection is an essential core for the development of ancient villages，ancient towns and ancient cities in China. These ancient culture representations are closely related to Chinese history. The integration of culture and tourism practice the idea of “promoting tourism through culture and enhancing culture by tourism”. Because of ancient and profound cultural connotations，increasingly people preferred to visit the ancient villages，towns and cities，and it has become the new trend in China’s tourism preferences. In 2019，there were some influenced events happened in China：the Liangzhu Archaeological Site was inscribed on the List of World Heritage sites by UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee. The Yangshao Culture attracted the international cooperation of academia. Also，film and television-induced tourism promoted the popularity of ancient villages，ancient towns and ancient cities，which came with the new economic growth way for the local development. This report analyses the development status of the ancient villages，towns and cities in 2019 from four aspects，including the development overview，the annual hot spot，the existing issues，and future trends.
