This article studied the existing research of visualization on the journalism and communication discipline，found that at the application level the current research of visualization focused on exploring the advantages and disadvantages of visualization and future prospects. And the theoretical issues are mainly including：basic situation of concept of visualization，the relationship between visualization and the news，the impact of visualization applications in the field of news. The article also found that there were some problems in the present research，such as the lack of visualization communication effect of quantitative analysis，the lack of segmentation research applications in various fields，the lack of the theoretical height of research and missing related visualization technology. After sorting out the main issues and shortcomings of the current visualization research，this article suggested that the future research on visual should emphasize on empirical research，refining the new mode of production which was bought by the scope of visualization research and system visualization and pay more attention to visualization technology itself.
