In recent years，courts at different levels in Liaoning Province have vigorously advanced the construction of smart court in accordance with the guideline of “Informatization and Construction of Two Centers （litigation service center and enforcement command center）”. Currently courts in Panjin City are also in the process of building a service-oriented smart court system，the core purpose of which is to reduce the routine work pressure of case-handling personnel in the frontline of case filing，trial and enforcement work and improve the quality and efficiency of litigation services to participants in proceedings. In this process，most software and hardware systems of the courts have been able to meet the demands of the handling of cases and official business and produced the effect of “offering timely help and support to those in need”，although some of the systems have failed to link themselves up with practical work. This article takes the practice of the grassroots courts in Panjin City of Liaoning Province as a sample to explore the existing problems in the construction of smart courts in China in such aspects as service objects，actual effect in the operation and examples of system application in various litigation processes，and looks into the future prospect of court informatization in China.
