Health impact assessment (HIA) is an important approach and tool for the “Health in All Policy” and can facilitate the implementation of the “Healthy China 2030” plan. HIA is developed in the context of the Global Healthy Cities’ Movement focusing on chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs),and accordingly it focuses on influential factors of NCDs,such as pollution sources, lack of physical activity, and accessibility of facilities. It can be seen that the assessment of health impact in China is still in its initial stage. In this context,it is suggested that health impact assessment should be regarded as an important path and mode of “health integration into all policies”,that is,to construct a health impact assessment system suitable for China’s national conditions,to strengthen the evaluation of health impact by combining quantitative analysis with qualitative analysis,to consider chronic non-communicable diseases and infectious diseases comprehensively, and to improve the degree of cohesion between assessment results and departmental policies.
