Based on the data of the “Chinese Social Survey” in 2013 and 2019，this paper analyzes the changes in the recognition degree of the socialist core values of the public. The results show that the promotion of socialist core values in the past eight years has been effective，and the values reflecting national identity，social order and social unity have gradually been highly recognized by the public. The value consensus of different social groups is more prominent，and the value difference between the elite group and the bottom group is obviously reduced，which indicates that the comprehensive goal of promoting the modernization of governance system and governance capacity has a good public social psychological foundation
