The outbreak and global spread of novel corona-virus have caused great losses to economy and society. In the process of disease prevention and control in China，it not only embodies the China’s system advantages，but also exposes the defects of public health emergency management system. The purpose of this paper is to systematically review the construction progress of public health emergency management system in China，the main experience obtained and its performance in the novel corona-virus epidemic situation，summarize the problems existing in the public health emergency management system，and put forward targeted suggestions for establishing a well functioning governance system to provide more effective response to public health emergencies.
