Employment is the greatest livelihood of the people. Employment and entrepreneurship of young people are not only the basic way for them to solve their life needs and realize their self-worth，but also the vital interests of every family and the factor that can affect the steady economic growth as well as social harmony and stability. As China’s economy has entered the stage of new normal，and the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has brought new development opportunities，the employment and entrepreneurship of young people presents many distinct characteristics，including the generally good employment readiness，increasingly reasonable value of employment，high work pressure，high job satisfaction，relatively high entrepreneurial willingness，and the huge scale of platform economy practitioners. At the same time，there are also some problems that deserve attention，such as high expectation of career choosing，insufficient understanding and utilization of employment policies，employment security system needs to be improved，social security below the average，the gap of effects of employment and entrepreneurship policies among different groups，and the tendency of female youth to work in first-tier cities and look for promotions and higher incomes. Therefore，it is an important task to analyze and solve the common problems encountered by young people in the process of employment and entrepreneurship，and to better promote youths employment and entrepreneurship.
