In order to have a comprehensive understanding of the online protection for Chinese children，this article first introduces the development of online protection for children in 2019，enumerating China’s regulations on online short video platform management，programs for minors，governance on the environment of online information，children’s personal information protection，and special regulation on the Internet. Then，from several aspects，main problems of children’s online protection have been sorted out，including the lack of a unified administrative department，a need for severe management on harmful online information，disclosure of children’s personal information，insufficient measures to deal with anti-Internet addiction，and the combination of online-and-offline child protection work. Finally，it is proposed to establish and improve the national mechanism of children’s online protection，improve the guardian’s consent system，and build a unified government certification platform for online games and make full use of the Internet to improve the ability of protecting children in the society.
