Autonomous driving is an organic integration of transportation tools，infrastructure and operation management，and the mass production and application of autonomous driving vehicles cannot do without the general improvement in the digital and intelligent level of the road infrastructure. With the rapid development of autonomous driving technology，intelligent road traffic infrastructure has become the focus of intelligent transportation industry. This paper mainly introduces the current development status of intelligent road infrastructure market from five aspects：the reason，content，market share，development trend，difficulties and development approaches of intelligent road infrastructure construction. At present，the development trend of intelligent road infrastructure construction is clear. This paper summarizes the problems and accumulated experience in the development process，and puts forward the development path for further promoting the planning and construction of intelligent road infrastructure.
