The level of urban economic management reflects the ability of the government to guide and promote the development of the economy in its jurisdiction，as well as the ability of the city government to formulate economic policies and implement them continuously and effectively. In this report，the evaluation index system of urban economic management level is constructed，which includes four dimensions. The comprehensive evaluation and ranking of 36 key cities’ economic management level are carried out，and the results show that “Beijing，Shanghai，Shenzhen and Guangzhou” is in the top four，on the contrary，Lhasa，Yinchuan and other cities with relatively low level of economic development ranked the bottom，and the level of urban economic management is basically consistent with the level of economic development. Finally，the report puts forward suggestions to improve the level of urban economic management.
