This report sorts out the development process of urban marathons in China since the founding of new China，summarizing the characteristics of urban marathon development. This report analyzes the problems evolved during its development，and proposed the corresponding countermeasures. This report also argues that，after years of development and change，the marathon race in our country has entered a stage of development from quantitative change to qualitative change，but the current development of city marathon still exists frequent security issues，events organization and management chaos，the imperfect industrial chain，full closed position，poor competition homogeneity. High quality，diversified will be the main developing direction in marathon hosted in China in the future.
