As an emerging form integrating sport and tourism，the orderly and healthy development of sports tourism is highly dependent on the guidance and norms of relevant policies. Based on the characteristics of sports tourism，the report systematically sorts out relevant laws，administrative regulations，departmental rules，related normative documents and analyzes the distribution characteristics of local regulations and regional policies related to sports tourism. The research finds that there has been a shift on the direction that policies guide the development of the industry，that is，from the initial encouragement to promote deep integration and industrial chain expansion. The focus of policies to promote the development of sports tourism is to play a more active role of the supply side and the demand side. Besides，policies support the development of sports tourism formats with their own characteristics in different regions，thus driving the coordinated and balanced development of regional industries with a clearer goal orientation. The report believes that the policy focus in the future is to make an overall plan for the development of the industry in a forward-looking way on the basis of respecting the evolution and scale of the sports tourism industry，so as to promote the vertical integration and horizontal diversification of sports tourism，and finally achieve the high-quality development of sports tourism.
