As a festival with a long history，‘Waerezu’festival has strong cultural contents，and are full of national，regional and inheritance characteristics. As the most original ecological cultural activety，‘Waerezu’ festival of the Qiang of Mao county in Aba autonomous prefecture in Sichuan province was listed in National list of intangible cultural heritage in 2006. By collected and summarized the relevant research materials，and then participated in the festival，interviewed performers and inheritor in 2015，this paper analyzed the current situation of the inheritance and measures of safeguarding. It is hoped that by doing this research this paper can provide some valuable references for the future relevant research.
