Cooperation fuer Transparenz und Qualität im Gesundheitswesen，KTQ （hereinafter referred to as KTQ），is one of the most influential medical institution accreditation systems in Germany and even the European Union. It is because of its “systematical，simple，reasonable，effective” characteristics. KTQ has been not only widely recognized by the German medical institutions，but also widely praised by the international medical industry. This paper mainly introduces the background，concept，organizational framework and functions of KTQ accreditation system，and expounds KTQ accreditation standards，procedures and characteristics.
