Through implementing a series of major projects in poverty alleviation，the foundation for the development of Sichuan’s ethnic regions has been further consolidated，and poverty alleviation efforts have achieved remarkable results. All poverty-stricken villages in the Tibetan area of Sichuan were lifted out of poverty，and historic progress has been made in fighting poverty in the Yi areas. Also supported by major projects in economic and social aspects，the socioeconomic development remains stable trend with new driving forces becoming obvious，such as overall tourism，enclave parks，specialty industries，and e-commerce. Restricted by development foundation and bottleneck，main contradictions in economic and social development in the ethnic minority areas of Sichuan have changed. Problems such as weak infrastructure and backward industrial development have been gradually resolved. Problems like insufficient sustainable industrial development capabilities，weak public service capabilities，the lack of professional talents have become a major constraint on the economic and social development of ethnic regions in the new stage. Exploring new ideas and paths on the basis of new development and create new situation for economic and social development in the minority areas of Sichuan are major issues that need to be explored.
