This paper analyzes the development and experience of the equipment manufacturing industry，combines with the current domestic and international situation，and forecasts the future development of the equipment manufacturing industry. Sichuan has many research institutes and production regulation enterprises involved in equipment manufacturing，and has formed three major equipment manufacturing bases，leading the country in certain fields and having a global competitive advantage in the field of power generation equipment. Facing the current Sino-U.S. trade war and the need for domestic industrial upgrading and the impact of this year’s new crown epidemic，Sichuan’s equipment manufacturing industry has both opportunities and challenges. It is necessary to continue to focus on strengthening development，especially to ensure the sustainability of the supply chain system in the industrial chain and the simultaneous promotion of domestic and foreign markets，so do enough to strengthen the support for the development of Sichuan equipment manufacturing industry from five aspects，so as to promote the sustainable and high-quality development of Sichuan equipment manufacturing industry.
