This article analyzes the development status of inland river cruises at home and abroad. Combined with the new mode of “slow” cruises，this article explores the necessity and advantages of the slow cruise in the inland of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. Consequently，we put forward thefollowing development-strategies：the new mode of “slow” travel of cruise in the inland river of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal based on multi-city intermodal transportation—the implementation of The General Plan of The Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal Tourism；the advancement of tourism infrastructure of cruise ships；the improvement of ecological environment of the Grand Canal；the deep excavation of history，culture and connotation of the Grand Canal and the reinforcement of propaganda.
