In the 70th anniversary of New China，Shandong contemporary literature has gone through three stages：the “seventeen years”，the ten years of “Cultural Revolution” and the new period. Judging from the writers themselves and the dimensions of their works，the literary creations of these three periods are closely related to the life of these three times to varying degrees，and the overall presentation reflects the characteristics of the real society. Shandong contemporary literature has exhibited its own historical characteristics in different periods，showing its own unique artistic value and historical rationality，and has also undertaken the literary mission given to her by history. It has its own unique position and influence in the history of Chinese contemporary new literature. However，there are still old ideas in Shandong’s contemporary literary creation，and the ideas are not broad enough，and they are not sufficiently integrated with the outside world. In the future，the development of Shandong literature must strengthen its own publicity and compete for the commanding heights of public opinion；it is necessary to build the advantages of its group，highlight its own regional cultural characteristics，enhance its cultural foundation，improvethe quality of creation，and produce more talents and more products，which is the fundamental way to improve competitiveness.
