Cultivating and developing characteristic towns has become an important hand in the construction of new urbanization，an important platform to promote supply side structural reform，and an important way to promote the overall development of urban and rural areas. There are a large number of towns in Sichuan Province，and the construction of characteristic towns has made some achievements. There are 20 towns with Chinese characteristics in Sichuan Province. However，there are still problems in the construction of Characteristic Towns in Sichuan Province，such as low level of urbanization development，unequal public services and obvious homogenization. Finally，suggestions are put forward to promote the construction of Sichuan characteristic towns from the aspects of adjusting measures to local conditions，giving priority to the market，innovating ideas and highlighting characteristics.
