Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games has provided both a chance and challenges for the development of Chinese national ice hockey teams. Taking the opportunity of preparing for the Games，our national ice hockey teams has begun to select talents across different categories to add reserve talents and to improve the reserve talent training mechanism. Under the principle of “practice by competition”，our national teams has also actively participated in international competitions to improve athletic skills and tactics and to foster teamwork spirit. However，low competition level，inadequate players，insufficient infrastructure，weak technological support and lack of competition platforms restrict the development of national ice hockey teams. Therefore，it is crucial to strengthen policy and technical facilities guarantees，to build a diversified training system and model，and to improve the reserve talent training mechanism，which can level up the national ice hockey teams.
