China’s ice hockey market is in its early days，and it still confronts problems like training，talent training models，infrastructure，popularity，family factors，and policy support. This paper first employs qualitative analysis to explore the current situation of Chinese youth ice hockey，which includes coaching and training of youth ice hockey，the growth path of young players and relevant government policies. It then uses quantitative analysis to investigate the factors affecting the growth of ice hockey. It turns out that population，the number of ice hockey rinks，economic level and low average temperature can all promote youth ice hockey in one country. Concerning the development of youth ice hockey in China，this paper proposes the following six suggestions，namely，increase policy support，regularize the youth training market，improve the youth ice hockey league system，mobilize social ice hockey clubs，encourage family support and participation and build more indoor hockey rinks.
