As socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era，meeting the growing spiritual cultural needs of the people and creating a better life have become an important goal of China’s social development. As an important part of the construction of a better life，cultural life also plays a pivotal role in the construction of spiritual civilization. This paper analyzes the cultural activities of Chinese residents. The results show that cultural activities have significant differences in different groups. Young people have the highest degree of participation in recreational activities，while middle-aged and elderly people have the highest degree of participation in learning activities. The post-80s group has the lowest degree of participation in recreational activities，recreational activities and learning activities.
