<<Since its inception,the French national museums have undertaken the mission of promoting French culture and values on the international stage. With the institutional reforms in the 1990s,the National museums gained administrative and financial freedom. This greatly stimulated the desire of the museum to go abroad in various forms. The museum has increasingly become an important representative of the soft power of French culture. With the reduction of government subsidies for museums in recent years,the international actions of museums have increased the purpose of gaining benefice and increasing their own income. This article elaborated on the various forms of the French national museums’ international actions in the new situation,including both traditional practices and new practices,as well as the opportunities and challenges faced by the international promotion of the National Museum in the information age.
