In 2018，Hubei art disciplines showed a good momentum of development. The art discipline focuses on the theme of the times，pays attention to deepening the local art resources of the region of Hubei，forms the artistic characteristics of Jing-chu area，and strengthens the academic infiltration with other disciplines. The breakthrough of the National Social Science Foundation Art Major Project indicates that the Substantive progress have been made in art discipline in high-level research. At the same time，there are some problems need to be solved in the future，including the high-level publication of artistic achievements in CSSCI-sourced academic journals is still a big problem for the art discipline of Hubei，and there are still gaps between Hubei with Jiangsu，Shanghai and Beijing where art discipline developed in a higher level. In view of the above-mentioned problems，Hubei art disciplines should further strengthen the study of academic theory and strive to enhance the influence of local academic journals in art disciplines；strengthen communication and cooperation between domestic and foreign institutions，between all levels，as well as arts disciplines and other disciplines，to promote the high level of the development of the arts discipline in Hubei Province with the mode of growth pole；giving full play to the effectiveness of the research platform of the existing laboratories and research bases，strengthen the website construction of these laboratories and research bases，and the examination and supervision of them；and also strive to explore and solve the problem of the imbalance and insufficient development of the secondary disciplines of art in Hubei Province.
