This paper introduces the development of education discipline （excluding psychology） in Hubei province in 2018 and makes a comparative analysis from the vertical and parallel dimension，and finds out the development level of Hubei is in the front rank in the whole country. The educational science research whose topics respond requirements of the times，has a bread range of research subjects，and the scientific nature of research methods has been improved. However，there is a big gap with advanced regions. The discipline development is unbalanced，basic theoretical research needs to be improved，experimental development and policy research should be strengthened. In 2019，Hubei education discipline should grasp the new situation and task of education development，continue to play its own advantages，and strive to improve the overall development level of education discipline.
