The construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is a major measure to promote China’s all-round opening-up in the new era. How to effectively promote the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has become a key topic that the theoretical and practical departments pay close attention to. Therefore，this report attempts to seek a feasible path to promote the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area from the perspective of industrial chain optimization and upgrading，and focuses on the effect of the optimization and upgrading on the foreign trade and economic development of Guangdong. This study suggests that the industrial chain optimization and upgrading of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area already has a solid foundation，and focusing on industrial chain division of labor and coordination to build a world-class advanced manufacturing base；focusing on the industries and industrial chains cooperation to promote industrial chain transformation and upgrading；focusing on collaborative research and market development to improve the industrial competitiveness. In addition，the optimization and upgrading will help optimize the structure of Guangdong’s import and export trade，expand the scale of foreign investment and outbound investment，and promote Guangdong’s foreign trade and economic cooperation achieve high-quality development.
