In recent years，the frequent occurrence of tourism security incidents in Taiwan has been reduced the willingness of mainland tourists to visit Taiwan to some extent. Base on the systematic analysis of the characteristics and causes of Taiwan’s tourism safety incidents in 2019，and combined with the situation of Taiwan’s tourism safety incidents in previous years，this paper finds that：（1）the number of tourism safety incidents and the number of casualties caused by accidents in 2019 are significantly higher than that in the previous year；（2）in the types of tourism safety incidents，51% of them are accidents and disasters，mainly tourism traffic safety incidents；（3）Most of the tourism security incidents occur in winter，showing obvious seasonal fluctuations；and they are unevenly distributed in space. This paper holds that：（1）although the number of Taiwan’s tourism safety incidents will drop off in 2020，part of them are caused by political malice，showing that the main number of tourists to Taiwan will sharply decrease，and then the number of tourism safety casualties will decrease；（2）the types of tourism safety incidents will still be dominated by tourism traffic safety incidents；（3）the prevention and control of public health incidents will be the focus of the whole society. Finally，from the perspective of natural environment，social environment，and tourist management，this paper puts forward some suggestions to create a safe and stable tourist environment for tourists.
