Natural disaster is one of the main factors affecting the safety of tourism in China. Based on the analysis of domestic cases of tourism-related natural disasters，it is found that the number of tourism-related natural disasters in 2019 is less than that in 2018，but the number of casualties has increased，and the impact of mountain floods on travel safety is more prominent. In 2019，China issued the‘tourism safety practice manual’，established the national institute of natural disaster prevention and control，strengthened supervision and management to deal with tourism-related natural disasters，achieved good results. The number of tourism-related natural disasters is expected to decline steadily in 2020，But coronavirus will put a great pressure on travel safety and risk control. This paper suggest that we should strengthen collaboration between departments，increase the use of the intelligent monitoring device，strengthen the tourism safety supervision，and increase awareness of tourists and residents in tourism safety precautions. We should make every effort to prevent and respond to natural disasters involving travel.
