With the advancement of the construction of utility tunnel in Beijing，the number of utility tunnel pipelines is increasing. The utility tunnel pipelines have become an important part of urban infrastructure. However，due to the differences in safety performance，external environment and operational management conditions between the utility tunnel pipeline and the traditional buried pipeline，objectively put forward new requirements for the operation management of the utility tunnel pipeline. Through requirement analysis of the operation management of the utility tunnel pipeline，it is concluded that the mainly operation management requirements of the inlet pipeline are the support of laws and regulations，the coordination of multiple management entities，and the optimization of operation management content. In combination with the actual management of Beijing，the recommendations for the operation management of the utility tunnel pipelines are proposed，including the perfecting of the laws and regulations，the strengthening of the connection between operation management，planning and construction，the establishment of the management mechanism of the pipelines，and the improvement of the monitoring and inspection system of the pipelines.
