The advantages of traditional Chinese medicine lie in the primary health care institution.Strengthening the ability of village doctors to provide traditional Chinese medicine is an important way to solve the “difficult and expensive medical treatment” of rural residents. By random survey，we did questionnaire survey and interviews on 104 village doctors and 132 directors of village clinic，and analyzed the current status of the development of traditional Chinese medicine service in countryside in China. The study found that village clinics generally suffer from insufficient equipment and severe shortages of village doctors；the overall job satisfaction of village doctors is low；the rural medical and health service capacity of Chinese medicine is obviously insufficient；and the integration of village clinics is facing resistance. It is recommended to use the systematic training of village doctor to improve the capacity of Chinese medicine services in village clinics.
