The sports yearbook is a think tank report，annually published，that analyzes，evaluates and forecasts sports development and hot issues. This report analyzes the development and publishing characteristics of sports papers based on the full sample data of sports Pishu of Social Sciences Academic Press from 2010 to 2019. The study found that the development process of sports Pishu falls into three stages：the preliminary exploration period （2010-2013），the growth and ciltivation period （2014-2018） and the management innovation period （2019-present）. A total of 7 series of sports yearbooks，including 16 titles，and a total of 35 books，593 reports and 7563.26 thousand words have been published. Thirty-eight research institutions mainly consist of sports colleges are involved in the study of sports yearbooks. Since 2010，the number of Pishu continuously published until 2019 accounts for 31.25% of the total，and only one title of Pishu is continuously published on schedule. In the long run，there is more room for sports Pishu volume expansion. Sports yearbook research should pay attention to achieving quantitative expansion while ensuring quality improvement. Stablizing the research teams with better interdisciplinary attribute can help solve sports data collection problems to ensure authority，so as to truly become an authoritative window for the community to quickly have a comprehensive understanding of sports development.
