International and regional studies，as a discipline combining fundamentality with practicability，covers a very wide range of research and it also has higher requirements in terms of timeliness and accuracy of analysis and forecasting. Therefore，the capacities to conduct in-depth international and regional studies are multifaceted. Scholars need to have interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary academic horizon and research capabilities，as well as the theoretical analysis ability of humanities and social sciences. It also brings certain challenges to the research and creation of the book because of. the ability to use foreign languages and the life and fieldwork research experience in the target countries or regions. This article takes the edition of 2019 International，regional and global governance year books as the statistical object，making a more comprehensive description toward the creation of Pishu by analyzing the number of publications，research institutions and authors，continuous publication conditions，influences as well as other aspects. At the same time，this article also associates the disciplinary features of international and regional studies with the practical problems in the creation of the book and puts forward four suggestions for the future development：oriented by the needs of national diplomacy，further emphasize the policy advice and practicability；broaden the scope of topic design and form the comparative advantages of research institutions；strengthen interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary joint creation；integrate the creation of Pishu and database construction together to strengthen data collection and analysis capabilities.
