With the rapid development of globalization，regionalization and urbanization，metropolitan region，an important carrier of population agglomeration and economic development，plays an important role in accelerating regional development and promoting the construction of governance system in China. It has become an important national strategy to promote the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Metropolitan Region in China. However，Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Metropolitan Region faces many obstacles in the coordinated development，especially the contradiction between the administrative division and social and economic integration in the metropolitan region. How to break through the fragmented development of local governments in the metropolitan region and achieve regional coordinated development is a major problem faced by Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and other metropolitan regions. This study analyzes the model and experience of coordinated governance in metropolitan regions in the world，with a view to providing reference for the coordinated governance of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Metropolitan Region.
