在《国务院关于支持赣南等原中央苏区振兴发展的若干意见》政策支持下，赣南苏区高等教育、中等职业教育、普通高中教育、义务教育等方面快速发展，教育保障水平有新提高。深入实施文化、旅游、健康扶贫，全面推进体育基础设施建设，赣南苏区人民对精神生活的需求不断增长，文化、旅游和体育建设成效显著，文化、旅游产业呈现飞速发展趋势，卫生健康事业获得了长足发展。尽管赣南苏区在教育、文化、体育、旅游及卫生健康等社会发展领域成就斐然，但是从整体看，这些领域基础设施薄弱的状况仍然没有得到根本性改变，需要进一步加大政策支持力度，实施精准扶持。
